Our Team

Behfar Jahanshahi

CEO

From an early age, Behfar has always had a true passion for technology. His parents always made sure he had access to the latest gadgets and Behfar immersed himself in everything tech.

Fast forward to the present, Behfar continues and has mixed together his passion for technology, entrepreneurship, and business. For those that know him, they will regularly see him toting multiple gadgets, business magazines, and financial statements. “Organized chaos” might be a term to best describe him, but he’ll readily admit that’s the way he loves it.

Behfar loves the business, but his family takes priority. He always finds ways to bring the best of both worlds together.

Marcel Bosboom

Director of Business Intelligence, Europe

Although Marcel is a busy guy, he always remembers to take time to appreciate his favorite things in life. “Being born and raised close to the beaches of the North Sea, I love to go there and walk for hours with my wife, two daughters and our fierce Dachshund.”

Living in Belgium also means being surrounded by European history. Marcel and his family like to visit the beautiful Gothic and Roman buildings/cathedrals in cities such as Antwerp or Bruges. Another great benefit of living in Belgium is having access to all kinds of restaurants and those who already know Marcel will say he likes food, especially local artisan cuisine. Spending time with his family also means going out to dinner and enjoying each others company — “one of the best things you can have as a family,” he says.

Working in BI already for some time now, Marcel has taken a new step in joining InterWorks to build the European branch. “Doing business in Europe is great and really challenging, since each country has its own business rules, culture and language.”

Dan Murray

Director of Business Intelligence, US

Dan has nearly 30 years of business experience as a CFO/ CIO/ COO/VP Planning/ VP Operations, and decided to join InterWorks to provide the best possible data visualization solutions available. He strives to give clients high value solutions that can be implemented quickly, incrementally and without significant risk.

Outside of being a business intelligence guru, Dan’s hobbies include blogging, analyzing the Federal Budget and offering his opinion on solving any of the world’s major problems. He also enjoys mountain climbing, long wilderness treks and hanging out with his family. According to Dan, after all his life experiences, the most insightful question he’s ever been asked was by his daughter- “Daddy, are there any mommy long-leggers?” As you can see, Dan also benefits from a good sense of humor.

Ben Bausili

Business Intelligence Consultant

Ben Bausili describes himself as a lucky husband, a proud dad of two children, a nerd and a lover of life.

As far as InterWorks goes, Ben says he’s found the unique opportunity to combine his passions and diverse skills to bring meaning and structure to the chaotic world of data, but on any regular day outside of the office, you might find him teaching his two-year-old to play DDR, hiking with his baby boy on his back at various parks, or mapping out an adventure on an iPad.

Whether he’s breaking bread with his family, taking a hike, or debating philosophy over coffee, Ben says no matter what, he is always finding the joy in everyday life.

Brian Bickell

Business Intelligence Consultant

Aside from being a business intelligence and statistics analysis wiz, Brian has a love for playing video games and collecting them, old or new. Brian became hooked on games after the Nintendo Entertainment System hit the market, and computers soon provided him a cool opportunity to tinker and create. That being said, it didn’t take long for Brian to start programming in BASIC and C in middle school.

His love for video games and programming has led him to a successful career at InterWorks as a Business Intelligence Consultant. When Brian isn’t traveling the nation on business or increasing his video game collection, he enjoys spending time as a newlywed with his wife, Meagan.

Eric Shiarla

Business Intelligence Consultant

Eric’s interest in golf started after his girlfriend, Chrystal, bought him a set of clubs during college. She played growing up and wanted him to join the fun. He loves the fact that it’s just the player against the course and says there are very few things in life, especially in sports, that rely on how one person performs alone. “For an ultra-competitive person like me, it’s a fun challenge,” he says.

Aside from golf and getting his work done at InterWorks, Eric loves to remain active. If you can’t find him on a tennis court or on a fairway, chances are he’s out sampling the latest catch at his favorite Sushi Bar or exploring all Houston has to offer with his girlfriend.

Jennifer Fair

AR/AP Clerk and Tableau Process Assistant

Although she doesn’t get to do it often, camping has been a favorite past-time of Jennifer’s since she was in elementary school. Jennifer loves being outdoors, sitting around bonfires, listening to nature, and spending time with friends and family, so camping really encompasses all of those things. She still remembers those fun days of church camp when she would hang out with good friends she hadn’t seen for the last year.

Most of her time today is spent working at InterWorks as “the glue that holds everyone together.” While most of the office is busy solving the world’s biggest computer problems, she’s holding down the fort, taking care of all the work behind the scenes. When she’s not working, Jennifer spends most of her free time with her new daughter and husband Brad, also an InterWorks employee.

Josh Davis

Business Intelligence Consultant

Josh Davis graduated from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida in 2003 with a degree in Computer Science. Josh started working for InterWorks in 2005 and moved to Oklahoma that year. He has worked on the networking and the software sides of the company and enjoys doing a multitude of different tasks. In 2008 Josh moved to Dallas after becoming engaged to his wife Bree.

Josh enjoys learning new skills and trying different things. As of late most things revolve around remodeling or making changes to his house. He also enjoys competitive sports.

Jin Kin

Business Intelligence Consultant

Three years ago, if you told Jin or anyone else at InterWorks, that he would be spending most of his time 10,000 feet up in the Austrian Alps flying downhill at Mach 3 with his hair on fire, no one would have believed it. Enter one restless wife and a job that can be done from an internet connection anywhere in the world. Jin says once he got over the fear of going too fast (is that even possible?), there was no stopping him, although he still can’t quite catch his speed demon wife.

Since becoming one of InterWorks’ first employees in 2002, Jin has served in just about every role in the networking department but is best known for his “bedside manner” with loyal clients who have known him from the beginning. Lately Jin has been branching out into business intelligence work from his strategic location in Mainz, Germany.

Tim Costello

Business Intelligence Consultant

When Tim isn’t polishing the flames on his beloved 1997 Ford Crown Vic (with the police interceptor package) he’s probably driving his kids around town, picking his wife up at the airport (she travels a lot) or on the way to a SQL Saturday event. Tim goes to a lot of SQL Saturday’s. He’s given talks on SQL Server and Tableau in Texas, Louisiana, Florida and Vancouver BC. Tim is active in his local SQL Server community and leads the Dallas – Fort Worth Tableau User Group.

When Tim’s at home he loves creating data visualizations with Tableau. Tim draws on his 10 years of SQL Server experience to design data marts and data transformation packages so he can tell the story of data with Tableau.

Tim Rymer

Business Intelligence Consultant

“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it”, in Tim’s mind its simple live by these words and all else will fall into place. Tim’s eye is currently on training for a marathon in Chicago next October to support the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, and he also hopes to finish an ironman before he is 30.

When he isn’t training for the next marathon he can be found programming and the thing that he says he loves about it is the process of taking an idea and bringing it to life and into something people can experience. An interesting tidbit about Tim is that he hasn’t always been interested in programming, his first year of college he studied mass communications and DJ’d for the college radio station where 11 listeners enjoyed a power hour of metal every Wednesday.
